Vagina

Beautiful, magically warm, mysterious place! Let’s get into it…

Things to know

There's levels to this powerful female part

Surprisingly vaginas all look alike on the inside... yet very different on the outside meaning the (vulva) they can vary in size, color and shape.

Dr. Karen E. Boyle of Chesapeake Urology Associates says, "Clitoral width is generally anywhere from 2.5 to 4.5 millimeters. I've examined women with a clitoral length of 0.5 inches all the way to over 2 inches, and studies confirm this variability. There is not just one size that's normal." The outer labia can also vary in terms of being barely there or a few inches long, and the inner labia (which are reminiscent of butterfly wings) might be hidden or hang past the outer lips. Most women's labia aren't perfectly symmetrical — one side is usually bigger than the other.

Vagina color can differ from your actual skin tone

The shade of your southern region isn't necessarily related to the tone of the rest of your skin. Many light-skinned women have brown or purplish labia, while a darker-skinned woman can have a lighter vulva. You also can have different colors in different areas — for example, your labia could be on the darker side yet your perineum could be pale pink.

Walls

Vagina walls are pleated and expand like an I'm umbrella about 1-2in to allow something to enter. There's greater expansion for child birth obviously!

No an extra large penis will not stretch it out so get it ladies! Vaginas always bounce back to its normal tightness after sex but you also won't ever go back to virgin tightness.  After child birth this is different case.

Work them outttt - Kegels duh!

Tone up your vag with kegels. Besides giving you a tighter grip during sex, it also may make it easier to climax. Here's how to exercise your V - Clamp down as if you're stopping your urine flow, hold for 10 seconds, then release. You’ll notice difference after a month.

Each vagina has its own smell, if it starts getting foul go get checked out.

Clitoris

There are more nerve ending in a clitoris than a penis. There are 8,000 sensory nerve endings in the clitoris, while the penis only has 4,000!

"These parts can be very sensitive" says Dr. Hutcherson -  “I usually tell women and their partners to move around and try different positions [during foreplay and intercourse] to stimulate all the clitoral tissue and not just the head.”

Women actually get a “boner” when turned on your clitoris becomes engorged with blood and grows slightly in size but this is never noticeable.

Wetness

“Vaginal lubrication is one of those things that are really misunderstood by men,” Hutcherson said, adding that most men don’t realize that a woman can be aroused without having any wetness.

Some women may even take longer to become aroused and lubricated if they’ve been in a relationship for a long time. “In the beginning of a relationship, you lubricate very well and really quickly [because of all] the chemicals and hormones that are rushing through your body,” Hutcherson explained. “Over time, those chemicals start to decrease after you’ve been with the same person for a while.”

Big O

A 2009 study revealed that about 75 percent of all women never reach orgasm from intercourse alone. One of the biggest mistakes a man can make when trying to please a woman is assuming that all women are stimulated in the same way.

MESSAGE! - “Men shouldn’t try to force a woman into having an experience that they think the woman should be having,” Hutcherson said.

Lost? This is how you find the G-spot.

The G-spot is a very controversial subject in the world of gynecology, and while some experts believe they have its exact location mapped out, others doubt that it even exists. Hutcherson believes the elusive G-spot is an area of glands near the urethra-side of the vaginal wall, it varies from woman to woman.

To find this spot

  1. Lubricate the fingers of the dominant hand and insert them, palm facing upwards, into the vagina.
  2. Reach the fingers all the way back until you feel the cervix.
  3. Once you hit the cervix, pull the fingers out slightly and rub the top of the vaginal wall where it feels most stimulating.
  4. Rub the area by curling your fingers, “like you’re saying come hither against that front wall,” Hutcherson says.
  5. Begin with light pressure then gradually add more pressure.

What do you call it?

I imagine every girl has a nickname for hers. What’s yours?

The vagina has over 1,000 nicknames, including Muff, The Notorious V.A.G, candy kiss, peach, fur burger, gauntlet, round mound of beehound, lick n' stick, pink turtleneck, bread-box, little debbie, pole hole, pandora's box, snail tracker, cuntzilla, sugar hole, The Death of Adam (fuck Adam)
